The remarks were made during a news conference with Javier Milei, who was present in the White House following the revelation of a multibillion-dollar bailout for the South American country. Near the close of the event, a journalist questioned Trump about a current unauthorized gathering in the city where authorities were targeted and a cruiser was burned. The correspondent also questioned if these incidents could lead to the revocation of organizing rights for the expanded soccer tournament.

“We could take them away,” the former president remarked concerning the World Cup games, set to be held at the Massachusetts arena. “She is ineffective … she is extremist, and they are occupying areas of Boston. That’s a pretty big claim, isn't it?”

“In cases where a city is doing a bad job, and I believe there are unsafe conditions, I will call Gianni [Infantino], who is phenomenal, and tell him let’s move it to an alternate venue,” Trump commented publicly. “He'd do that. He wouldn’t love doing it, but he’d do it. Without hesitation, he’d do it.”

Gianni Infantino has publicly acknowledged his strategies to be closely connected with Trump ahead of the 2026 event, scheduled to be organized in 11 cities across the America along with two in the northern neighbor and a few in the southern neighbor. “This is FIFA’s tournament, FIFA’s jurisdiction, we decide those decisions,” Montagliani stated. “Respectfully to national heads, football is bigger than political figures and soccer will outlast their administration and their policies. It's the beauty of football, that it is transcends a single person and more important than a nation.”

LA Games Warning

On Tuesday, Trump’s answer to a question about the Massachusetts city included a comparable warning regarding the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

“In case I thought LA was failing to be prepared properly, I will shift it to another location as needed,” he remarked. “Regarding that event I’d probably have to get a varying permission, but we would proceed.”

“In case he doesn’t play ball, we’re gonna have to be firm,” the former president said.

“They better clean up their act,” he said. “It's my message.”
